At Freegrounds Infant School we believe when handwriting becomes automatic it eases the pressure on cognitive load and enables children to write more effectively. As a school we follow a comprehensive evidence- informed handwriting programme called Kinetic letters. 

Kinetic Letters is taught daily across the school starting in Early Years. The children are taught about how their body, posture and hand control affects their handwriting. The learning is taught through stories, songs and rhymes. The children meet a cast of characters who help them along their handwriting journey and by the end of the programme they will have comfortable pain free writing with increased writing stamina.
