School Day
Punctuality and the School Day
Regular and punctual attendance is essential in helping children to settle quickly, feel secure and access learning from the start of the day.
The doors open at 8.45am. Children are expected to arrive no later than 8.50am to ensure a calm and positive start to learning.
If a child arrives after 8.50am, this will be recorded as Late for that session, and any time after 9.15am will be marked as unauthorised in line with government guidance.
The school day runs from 8.45am to 3.15pm, meaning the school is open to children for a total of 32.5 hours each week.
Playground and Trim Trail Safety
We are committed to ensuring that our site is safe and welcoming for all children and families at the start and end of the school day.
To support this, we ask that:
- Children do not ride bikes or scooters on paths, or playground areas before or after school. This includes younger siblings and helps us reduce the risk of accidents.
- Bikes and scooters should be placed in the designated storage shelter before entering the playground.
For safety reasons, children must not use the trim trail equipment before or after school. The trim trail is only available during the school day and when supervised by Freegrounds staff.
These arrangements help ensure that children's experiences are safe, consistent and well managed.
End of day arrangements
To enable after school clubs to run safely and effectively, we ask that all families leave the playground by 3.30pm.
