Mystery seeds home learning!
Thank you everyone for all of your super detective work to explore what the mystery seeds were. We were very impressed with the diaries, measurements, observations and writing that you did to explain your findings.
We enjoyed learning about plants in Orange class. We found that we already knew quite a lot and worked together to find out more. We did some online research about plants to find out about the different parts, how seeds grow into seedlings and then plants and made lots of observations. Mrs Jones was really impressed with our plasticene plants because we included los of detail and we explained the changes that happen as plants grow too. We asked lots of questions about plants and we wanted to know if bigger plants really grew from big seeds. We planned how to find out the answer and made some predictions. We decided to watch our seeds over a few weeks and we made a table to record our observations. We were amazed at what we found out. Once we had some seedlings to observe we realised that we needed to measure them to ensure our results were accurate. Mrs Jones took our plants home over Easter. We can't wait to see how they have changed....
Thank you everyone for coming along to our couscous tasting this afternoon. We had a fabulous week, reading and following recipes, tasting couscous and then planning our own delicious version. We learned about different cutting, chopping and peeling techniques, practised them and then put them to good use to make the couscous to share with our families. Great team work everyone.
This half term our project is called 'What a wonderful world'.
Our focus subjects are Science (plants and growing) Design and Technology (food) and PSHE (environment and citizenship)
Very well done to all of the families who worked hard to complete the winter poem home learning. The poems you created were thoughtfully written with lovely adjectives and beautifully presented too.
